"Fresh Flavors, Great Smoke, and… a Waitress Who Forgot About Us I tried Calhoun’s and started with the spinach artichoke dip — and let me tell you, it was fresh, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Easily the highlight of the meal. I also ordered the smoked wings, which had a solid, authentic smoked flavor. They tasted like true smoking‑pit wings, but they were missing any additional seasoning or sauce to round them out. Still good, just not layered in flavor. My cousin ordered the burger and said it was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. Now… the service. Our waitress with the blonde hair and glasses, was not focused on our table at all. We had to track her down every single time we needed something — drinks, refills, napkins, everything. I watched other tables getting great attention, so it was definitely just our section that was struggling. Even with the service hiccup, I’ll absolutely go back for that spinach artichoke dip. Next time, I’ll just make sure I’m not seated in that waitress’s section."

"Visited Calhoun's and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The food was below average and didn’t live up to expectations, especially for a place known for barbecue. Service was a bigger issue. Our server was inattentive and slow throughout the meal. Orders were not handled correctly—we specifically asked for pulled pork nachos with the beans on the side, but instead received nachos with the pork on the side. Small details matter, and this was frustrating. To make matters worse, the server broke two glasses during our visit and seemed more focused on talking to coworkers about the incidents than actually taking care of our table. Between the slow service, lack of attention, and incorrect order, the overall experience just didn’t meet the mark."

"I've been visiting Gatlinburg for 40 years and had never eaten at Calhoun's before so I was excited to go. However, I was so let down. The service was not good. We waited for almost an hour for our food and had to track down our waitress twice during that time frame for drink refills. The Prime Rib was over smoked and over seasoned. The chicken was way over seasoned. The burgers appeared to be just frozen patties grilled up and the ribs were not good even though they claim they are the best. Don't waste your time. There are so many other places in Downtown Gatlinburg with great food and service."
